ELLIS ADDED TO NFC PRO BOWL ROSTER
Linebacker Greg Ellis has been added to the NFC Pro Bowl roster today as an injury replacement for the Chicago Bears’ Lance Briggs. This is Ellis’ first Pro Bowl selection.
Ellis started the last 11 games for the Cowboys in 2007 after suffering a ruptured Achilles’ tendon at Arizona (11/12/06) which caused him to miss all of training camp and the first three regular season games. He finished the year with a career-high 12.5 sacks - good for second on the team behind DeMarcus Ware (14.0), second among league linebackers and sixth overall. He added 13 quarterback pressures to finish third on the team.
Ellis joins 12 teammates previously named to the Pro Bowl - for a team and NFL record 13 selections.
