The Dallas Cowboys will reportedly trade nose tackle Jason Ferguson to the Miami Dolphins.
Cowboys deal Ferguson to Dolphins
Here are a few quotes from Jason when he talked to Smoaky earlier today:
“You and I both talked about this a few weeks back. We knew this was coming”, he said.
Ferguson added, “For three years I was able to play for a team that I grew up loving and almost had to root for if I was going to stay in my father’s home. I wish we could have finished the deal, but I feel like we as a team in Dallas left a lot of stones on the field.”
Ferguson then said, “Knowing I’ll be in Miami with Bill Parcells will make this transition a little easier”. Ferguson added, “I am very lucky to have a coach (Parcells) that actually looks out for me and we have a lot of common interests. A lot of guys really wish they had the same relationship with their coach.”
We wish “Fergie” the best of luck!

Occasionally Smoaky will have special guests on the show, those special interviews will be available here.
I hate to see him go, especially after reading the comments he made. I understand the cap ramifications of this move - sending him to Miami frees up a couple million dollars of cap space, and we just invested a lot of money into Jay Ratliff (and to a lesser extent, Tank Johnson).
But still, as last year showed, you can never have too much depth at that position.
