Cowboys fire special teams coach…

Posted under: Cowboy News by smoaky on December 31st, 2008 7:44 pm

The Dallas Cowboys announced the release of special teams coach Bruce Read today. Read was hired by Wade Phillips prior to the 2007 season after spending the previous three seasons at Oregon State. Read had prior NFL experience with the New York Giants (2002-2003) and the San Diego Chargers (1999-2001).

The Dallas Cowboys signed wide receiver Travis Wilson today. Wilson joined the Cowboys practice squad on October 1, 2008 and finished the season with the club. He was originally a third round draft pick (78th overall) in 2006 by the Cleveland Browns out of Oklahoma. He played in four games with one start in his two years with the Browns, recording two catches for 32 yards. Wilson was released by Cleveland on the final roster reduction in 2008 and signed to the Denver Broncos practice squad on September 3. He was released by the Broncos on September 23.
