Through this past season, it became more evident as the games passed that 99% of the Tony Romo naysayers simply don’t know a thing about the game. It’s almost as if no one looked beyond that first game vs the Giants. Romo had an outstanding season and he guided this team to it’s first post season victory since 96′. He deserved to go to the Pro bowl, regardless of how he got in. This guy is the real deal and there is no doubt in my mind that he will help bring the Lombardi trophy back to Dallas before he is finished.

Can you finally put to rest the nonsense you’ve been spouting all season about Tony Romo NOT being a first tier NFL QB? Here are the stats:

Tony Romo – 2009 Regular Season
Completion Percentage – 63.1 – #10 in the league.
Passing Yards – 4483 – #3 – only Schaub (4770) and PManning (4500) were better.
Yards/Attempt – 8.15 – #6 – ahead of ahead of Favre, both Mannings, Warner, Brady.
TDs – #10 – Tied w/ Warner & Roethlisberger.
Ints – 9 – Fewer than Brees-11, Brady/Palmer-13, Warner-14, Schaub-15, PManning-16.
QB Rating – #8/97.6 – Ahead of Brady(96.2), Warner(93.2), McNabb(92.9).
Yds/Gm – #5/280 – Ahead of Rodgers(277), Brady(275), Rivers(266), Favre(263), Warner(250).

Please note that in a number of very important categories TR is ahead of the NFL golden boys – Brady/Brees/PManning/Rivers. If you’re truly an objective sports broadcaster you’ve got to admit that he’s playing at an elite level along side of some pretty elite QBs.

Although Flo doesn’t seem to be the sharpest tool in the tool chest, I think Dallas should give him a $50,000 bonus for pushing down Tuck. At least Flo was showing some emotion, albeit misdirected. Hey, at least he didn’t jump offsides, right? As far as Romo is concerned, I still don’t understand why people (especially Cowboys fans) are so hard on the guy. 20 TDs and 7 picks? I’ll take it. He is still a work in progress and yet his numbers are awesome as a starter. Romo will only get better. Cowboy’s fans need to quit being drama queens. The talking heads should check their stat sheets before slamming the guy. Of course, reality is hard for people to deal with sometimes. Romo will lead this team to a Super Bowl, it’s just a matter of time. If the Cowboys pull off a miracle and go 4-0 through the end of this season, the Aikmans and Bucks of the world would still find something to be negative about. If Dallas beats San Diego, it will temporarily shut down the critics. If they beat the Saints……look out, Romo and Wade will be the darlings of the league. I’d just like to see them win the division.

Flo gotta go. He’s a liability we cannot afford any longer. He gets beat constantly which get Romo killed. And his constant penalties at the exact wrong times almost lost us the game at KC – pathetic as the Chiefs are. He’s done, put a fork in him. Quit defending him and call for his head.

Bigger is not better. Watching these Dallas Cowboys last year I remembered how the smallest front line in the NFL won two Super bowl titles with essential the same small line. The Denver Broncos. Since Jerry jones thinks bigger is better with a QB who can’t see over his own OL, it will not make any one wonder why these Cowboys will once again find themselves near the middle of the pack this upcoming season. Big, slow, sluggish is not the recipe for what jone sis looking for. Man do we miss jimmy Johnson and what he, andhe alone put together with Jerry’s money. Big stadium too, but will it be filled by the diehard Cowboy fans come game time?

Just an additional comment/question.

Do you not agree that it takes or shows just as much “cajones” to take a risk on a T.O., Pacman or billion dollar stadium?

Just my opinion, but if spending money or taking the big risk is an indicator of big “cajones” then I have to consider Jones a man’s man.

Now the “Dead Money” will indicate that a very poor management decision was made last year.

Having written the above, a lot of people leave Vegas saying “I wish I would have ….” and then they go back to work.
