We’ll also try and work in a player interview, and if not a player, that’s fine—I want to leave as much time for you the Cowboys fan as possible.

Tony Romo on loss…
“It’s frustrating and disappointing, you know, it obviously doesn’t feel good, we obviously need to play a lot better than we did. I never go into a game thinking we’d lose like this, and always feel confident your team has a chance of winning, and it didn’t go our kind of way this day.”
On the fumbles…
“I was getting ready to throw in both instances, both instances, and you’re getting ready to throw, and the guy got me, and at a certain point of the game you need to risk things, certainly.”
How to get it done next season…
“We need to look at everything in the off-season and I think we need to do a few things to counter some of the things the other teams are doing, we didn’t execute to what we needed to, to win, but it taught us a lot…they (Eagles) exposed us on some things we do fundamentally offensively, and give them credit, Jimmie Johnson and that staff, they do a good job and made it difficult at certain stages of the game.”
Whose to blame?
“We got to play better, I have to play better, the team has to play better, we didn’t play good this December, that’s the story.”
On waving off the fourth-and-one punt…
“I didn’t wave it off, he (Wade) said punt, and he changed his mind, they said in his ear, they changed it.”
What do you mean “exposed us?”
“We have certain protections that they knew we were running, there are hots and sights, certain things during the game, and sometimes you may not run some of them for several weeks, but during the the second drive of the game…we threw 5-6 on one drive beginning part of the game.”
Continues…
“They made an adjustment, to break down our protection where a guy comes free, but since they’re in tight man coverage, there’s no one available, and you don’t have the protection needed for the route. Teams fall into that, and they did a good job of understanding what we’re trying to do. It has nothing to do with a team knowing you or not, the reason they could do that, they know us, but as far as us knowing them, we don’t know what they’re going to run. They just know the schematic part of what we do, and once we got behind the eight ball it made it tough in those situations.”
On rap of not winning the big games…
“I wake up tomorrow and keep living, you mean you just keep playing the game, it’s enjoyable, and we’re going to try and win next year, and get into the Super Bowl, and if you don’t, okay, and if you do, okay…it’s part of the job.”
On how he handles the criticism of his big-game record and off-season…
“I’ve had a lot worse happen to me than a loss in a sporting event, and if this is the worst thing that happens to me, I’ve lived a good life.”
