Tylerites Produce Bestselling Leadership Guide

Posted: Thursday, 20th March 2008 2:45AM
TYLER -- Two Tyler men have an amazon.com #1 best-seller based on the Two-Hour House of 2005. That's when a group of people set a world record by building a local home in two hours and 52 minutes. Now Jose Feliciano and Brian Conaway have incorporated the principles of the project into a book called "2 Hour House: Leadership from the Ground Up." Feliciano is a longtime financial planner who was inspired by footage of the home's construction. Conaway recruited and coordinated the over 800 volunteers who completed the project.

Feliciano says the building project "really took the ultimate planning" that you can apply to any business. He says it all comes down to eight simple steps: purpose, power-up, partner, project, play, practice, pursue, and prosper. Feliciano calls the book a leadership guide that shows how simple principles can lead to great accomplishments. According to Feliciano, if you use those principles in your work or family life, "it just helps make the world a better place." Among the book's fans: three-time Olympian Ruben Gonzalez and "Chicken Soup" author Jack Canfield.
