Police Name Those Involved in Longview Fatality Wreck

LONGVIEW � One person has been killed and one injured in a three vehicle wreck in Longview. It happened just before 7:30 yesterday morning in the 5400 block of Loop 281. Witnesses tell Longview police a pickup driven by Richard Townsend of Beckville was heading west on the loop when it drifted into oncoming traffic. It hit an SUV driven by Brenda Ann Scheid, 52, of Gilmer. The SUV then spun around and hit a truck driven by Guy Malcolm Reed of Gilmer. Scheid was pronounced dead at the scene. Townsend was transported to Good Shepherd Medical Center by ambulance with non life-threatening injuries. Reed received minor injuries but was not transported to the hospital. The crash remains under investigation.
