Tyler Man Sentenced in Fatal Wreck
Posted/updated on: December 20, 2012 at 2:28 amTYLER — A Tyler man has received two 10 year prison sentences in connection with a fatal accident in December of last year. Jared Tyrell Stinecipher, 26, pleaded guilty in October to criminally negligent homicide and causing an accident involving serious bodily injury or death. Killed in the accident was Arthur Dewayne Murphy, 50. Stinecipher fled the scene, touching off a manhunt.
In 7th District Court yesterday, Judge Kerry Russell sentenced Stinecipher to two 10 year sentences, which will be served concurrently. Stinecipher is the son Lt. Mark Stinecipher with the Smith County Sheriff’s Department. He was the one who called authorities when his injured son showed up at his home following the accident.
