crabtreeGILMER — State District Judge Lauren Parish has set a Thursday bond reduction hearing for a former Upshur County commissioner and his son who were arrested Friday. According to KETK, Lloyd Crabtree, 51, (pictured) and Todd Crabtree, 28, were indicted this past week on charges arising from a confrontation with a Texas Parks and Wildlife Department game warden last October. Each man has bonds totaling $1.5 million, more than some capital murder suspects in Upshur County have faced.

The indictments accuse the men of disarming the game warden at gunpoint when he came on their land south of Big Sandy looking for hunting violations. Game Warden Shane Bailey summoned help on his cell phone and was joined by law enforcement officers from several agencies who arrested the Crabtrees. Each is charged with aggravated assault on a public servant, taking a weapon from an officer, and unlawful restraint of a public servant.
