lightningDALLAS (AP) — Thunderstorms swept across North and East Texas, bringing scattered reports of small hail and tree damage but no severe structural damage. Concerns about severe storms and tornadoes for the regions didn’t pan out Tuesday afternoon. However, the storms were heralded by a gust front that blew briefly up to 50 mph in some areas.

In Hughes Springs, Mayor Reba Simpson said a couple of mobile homes were reportedly toppled. She had no report of injuries. The roof was damaged on a Walmart warehouse at Palestine.
