Whitehouse Police Officer Resigns Following DWI Arrest

WHITEHOUSE � A Whitehouse police officer resigns following his arrest on for allegedly driving while intoxicated. According to Whitehouse Police Chief Craig Shelton, Darrell Desmon Robertson, 39, resigned Thursday morning. According to KETK, Smith County Judicial records show Robertson was booked into jail early that morning and released on $500 bond just over an hour later. Robertson was stopped in his personal vehicle on Farm Road 756 near Loop 49 after a trooper spotted his vehicle allegedly weaving and crossing the center line. After speaking with Robertson, the trooper arrested him for DWI with probable cause, according to Department of Public Safety Spokeswoman Jean Dark.
