Mississippi Woman Killed in I-20 Wreck

LONGVIEW � Authorities release the name of the woman killed in a major 18-wheeler wreck on I-20 at the MLK bridge in Longview. She was identified as Vickey Patterson, 44, a passenger in the truck. Police say the truck, the driver, and the truck�s passenger were from Mississippi. KETK reports the accident happened just before 3:45 Monday morning, when the truck had a mechanical problem and ran off the road. It crashed into the MLK overpass pillars and guardrail. The wreck ignited a fire, which caused some structural integrity issues on the bridge. Police say the bridge crossing over I-20 is �closed indefinitely.� The driver of the truck was released from the hospital later Monday. A dog was also in the truck, but managed to get out unharmed.
