thumb_TISD_Logo_NewTYLER – Tyler ISD is celebrating its 2,147 volunteers during National Volunteer Week. According to a news release, “Tyler ISD is so thankful for the parents and community members who give their time to serve as a volunteer in our schools.” James Hobbs volunteers four days a week at Jones Elementary MST Academy. “For the past 10 years I was a teacher at Tyler Junior College. When I retired from TJC I decided I wanted to go somewhere I can make a difference and help students catch up in math at the fourth and fifth grade levels,” Mr. Hobbs said. “Volunteering has been a great experience!”

The news release continues, “Tyler ISD volunteers are a much appreciated and highly respected group of people who make up a very important part of our educational team. Tyler ISD and its professional educators have witnessed the rewards of volunteer partnerships between our community and its schools.”
