Committee to Select Candidates for John Tyler Principal Position
Posted/updated on: May 17, 2013 at 12:21 pmTYLER – Tyler ISD will use a search committee to select candidates for the John Tyler High School principal position. TISD officials say a community survey has been launched to gather information from John Tyler parents, staff members, students, and community members to determine what characteristics and qualities they would like to see in a potential candidate. You can go to http://www.jt.tylerisd.org to gain access to the survey.
Officials say a committee of stakeholders will interview the semi-finalist candidates in early July. Following the interview process, Superintendent Gary Mooring will present the top candidate to the Tyler ISD Board of Trustees at a July board meeting. According to a TISD news release, “Hiring of a search firm will enable Tyler ISD to recruit the greatest number of qualified candidates to provide leadership for John Tyler High School.” Former JT principal Michael Timms resigned last month; Joe Coburn has been serving as interim principal.
