One Dead in Cherokee County Accident

REKLAW — One person has been killed in a one-vehicle crash in Cherokee County. It happened shortly before 2:30 Saturday morning on State Highway 204, nearly four miles east of Reklaw. The DPS says the 2004 Chevrolet pickup was driven by Rudy Steve Harris, 56, of Pasadena, Texas. Authorities say Harris was eastbound when he drove off the roadway and hit a tree. He was pronounced dead at the scene. Officials say Harris was wearing a seatbelt.
