2012 Water Quality Report Released

Posted/updated on: May 25, 2013 at 5:10 pm

thumb_longview-cityofLONGVIEW — Throughout the next month, the City of Longview will be in the process of mailing the 2012 Water Quality Report to all customers who receive a water bill from the City. This year, the report will be mailed out along with the water bills instead of as a separate mail-out.

According to the City’s Utility Plant Manager Mike Brown, “The purpose of this report is to improve public education and inform public water system customers about our water sources and any contaminants found in the water. The report also provides other information about our water such as backflow prevention, water security and special health information.” The annual report on water quality, also referred to as the Consumer Confidence Report, is a requirement of the Federal Safe Drinking Water Act.

For anyone not receiving a water bill, extra copies of the report will be available at the Water Utilities Office at City Hall, 300 W. Cotton St., or the Longview Public Library, 222 W. Cotton St. You can also go to http://www.LongviewTexas.gov to find a copy of the report. For more information, call 903-237-2780.
