Palestine Man Sentenced in Meth Case

Federal Courthouse-ATYLER — A 39-year-old Palestine man has been sentenced for his part in a multi-defendant drug conspiracy in East Texas. Craig Lee Bice pleaded guilty on last October 30 to possession with the intent to distribute methamphetamine. Bice was sentenced yesterday to 96 months in federal prison by U.S. District Judge Leonard Davis.

According to federal prosecutors, on November 17, 2010, Bice possessed 97.25 grams of a mixture containing a detectable amount of methamphetamine which he intended to distribute in East Texas. Bice was indicted on April 11, 2012, along with three codefendants.

Bice’s codefendants have all been sentenced. Jeremy Bice was sentenced on March 13 to 37 months in prison; Brandon Maciel was sentenced on March 15 to 87 months in federal prison and Valerie Lynn Doyle was sentenced on March 20 to 70 months in prison.
