Wife Slaying Suspect Held in Nacogdoches
Posted/updated on: September 4, 2013 at 12:07 pmROCKPORT (AP/Staff) – A South Texas man accused of killing his wife has been arrested in Nacogdoches County. Andrew Jared Harvey, 21, was accused of the slaying after relatives questioned why he traveled hundreds of miles to the Sacul community with his 5-month-old son — but without the baby’s mother. Nacogdoches County jail records showed Harvey was being held without bail for Rockport police.
Harvey faces a murder charge after Rockport officers on Monday afternoon found the body of 20-year-old Skye Harvey in the couple’s home. The woman allegedly was shot. Autopsy results are pending. One of the suspect’s relatives in Sacul, 350 miles northeast of Rockport, called officers after becoming suspicious when Harvey arrived with the boy. Lt. Larry Sinclair says police in Rockport, 25 miles northeast of Corpus Christi, have no record of family violence involving the couple.
The baby remains with relatives.
