Warren - PhotoTYLER — Oil and gas professional Don Warren Tuesday announced his intention to seek the City Council District 4 seat in the May 2014 election. Current District 4 City Councilmember Martin Heines recently announced his intention to run for Mayor in May 2014. Warren is a Tyler native, a graduate of Texas Tech University, and has been an oil and gas professional for the last 32 years. He is the owner of Lomoco, Inc., a small oil and gas asset management firm, which he formed in 1994. Since 2010 he has served as a volunteer on the City of Tyler Planning and Zoning Commission and is currently serving as Co -Chairman of the Bergfeld Park Improvement Project.

Warren is also involved in the community as a Co-Chairman of the Downtown Tyler Art Center Task Force and as a Board member and volunteer at Gateway to Hope. In the past, Warren has served as a Board Member of the Smith County Child Welfare Board, the Saint Marcus Compassion House, and the Tyler Museum of Art.

“After visiting with residents of the district as well as community leaders over the past several months, I am excited to announce my candidacy for City Council,” said Warren. Tyler has great momentum with the pay–as–you-go plan and the overall businesslike approach to City government. The City is in great shape because of the work of the strong management team and the commitment of current and past Mayors and Council Members.

“I believe my background and experience serving on City committees as well as other diverse community boards will be an asset in working as a member of the City Council. I have passion for the City and a desire to work together to build consensus on important projects that make our City great. I would consider it an honor to be elected to this position.”

Warren is married to Chelli, and they are the parents of two daughters and five grandchildren. The Warrens attend Green Acres Baptist Church.
