KETK reports the man is identified as James Carey Prosperie of Tyler, who spent a number of years as a local pharmacist. Police say when they tried to execute an arrest warrant in the 1000 block of Jeff Davis Drive, Prosperie initially refused to exit his house. There were reports he was armed, but police say they can’t confirm that. He was finally taken into custody early in the afternoon. Prosperie operated the Medicine Shoppe at 2119 East Fifth Street until it closed several years ago. The space is now occupied by a tattoo parlor.
