The officers were serving a search warrant on Jeff Davis Drive at the home of James Carey Prosperie. Officers were not able to say what they were looking for, but they could be seen coming out of the house with some cardboard boxes.
Prosperie, who is now free on bond, was arrested September 3rd following a stand off with officers at his home. Police say when they tried to execute the arrest warrant, Prosperie initially refused to exit his house. He was finally taken into custody early that afternoon.
Prosperie is being accused of sexually assaulting a 14 year old relative at least twice. The arrest affidavit said the detective working the case feels there is good reason to believe that Prosperie assaulted the teenager on June 8th. According to a report from the CPS, Prosperie told a friend, who is a lawyer, that he had sexual contact with the underage relative on at least two separate occasions.
