thumb_DPS-car-2TYLER A Tyler woman has been hospitalized after her car went off the road and through a bridge support. According to KETK, Minnie Hamilton, 29, was driving eastbound on Smith County Road 1113 toward Highway 155 around 10:00 yesterday morning, when she lost control of her car. Hamilton ran off the road coming around a curve and overcorrected. She crossed the other side of the road and drove into a Lake Placid Road creek, just east of Greenbriar Road. When she went into the creek, Hamiltons car collided with the bridge support.

Smith County Road and Bridge headed to the scene in an effort to determine the structural integrity of the bridge. According to Trooper Jeanne Dark of Smith County DPS, Hamilton was taken to a local hospital to be treated for minor injuries. Dark also says speed and wet roads likely contributed to the crash.
