Marshall Shooting Investigated; Lawman Questioned
Posted/updated on: December 17, 2013 at 5:09 pmMARSHALL An East Texan remains hospitalized from a gunshot wound after shots were fired Sunday outside a Marshall bar, and a local law officer has been taken in for questioning. KETK reports that around 2:00 Sunday morning, Marshall Police Department Communications received several calls reporting a shooting which had taken place outside Charlies Bar at 303 North Columbus. While officers where en route, MPD Communications also requested that Marshall Firefighters/EMT respond due to an injury.
Upon officers arrival, an off-duty deputy with the Harrison County Sheriffs Office, Matthew Hasler, was taken to the Marshall Police Department for further investigation. Trey Austin Rogers was taken to a Marshall hospital for treatment of a gunshot wound. He is listed in critical condition. The investigation is ongoing by the Marshall Police Department in conjunction with the Texas Rangers and the Special Investigators of the Harrison County District Attorneys Office.
