Alleged Sexual Predator Identified

JONESBORO, LA. � The United States Immigration and Customs Enforcement agency says the man known as “John Doe 2,” now captured, has been identified as Christopher Nixon. KETK reports the manhunt ended late Monday night, less than four hours after ICE issued a public appeal for information about his identity and location. Nixon was taken into custody at a home in Jonesboro after Homeland Security Investigations received nearly 50 tips from the public via the HSI Tip Line. Officials had earlier advised that Nixon might have ventured into East Texas and issued a notice to be on the lookout for him there.

Nixon was reported to have engaged in sexual acts with a minor between six and 10 years old and to have produced two child pornography videos with a smartphone to record himself performing those alleged acts. According to Nixon’s Facebook page, he was employed as a videographer. The arrest warrant for Nixon was signed Monday in U.S. District Court for the Western District of Louisiana. At that time, HSI had no information about the identity of the suspect, but based upon GPS data in two child pornography videos, investigators believed he lived in or traveled to the Jonesboro area. Nixon is being held in the Union Parish jail on charges of child pornography and will appear in federal court in Monroe on Thursday.
