satterwhitespencerfbLONGVIEW — A Longview Police officer tied to a drug bust at his apartment earlier this month has stepped down. According to KETK, Longview Police Public Information Officer, Kristie Brian said Lt. Mike Satterwhite, a 37 year employee, resigned on Wednesday. The resignation comes after police found less than two ounces of marijuana and other items of drug paraphernalia at his rental home in the 300 block of Lake Lamond Avenue at Autumnwood Apartments on December 10.

Police did arrest Satterwhite’s roommate, Donald Glynn Spencer, 27, who is not a police officer, after police and the County Organized Drug Enforcement Unit executed a search warrant at Satterwhite’s home. Spencer was released the following day on a $500 bond. No charges have been filed against Satterwhite at this time. Details are limited, but KETK will continue to update you as more information becomes available. Satterwhite is a Longview native who, prior to joining the LPD, was a military police officer in the United States Army.
