Plane Crashes Near Gladewater

GLADEWATER — Officials are investigating an East Texas plane crash. It was reported around 1:45 Saturday afternoon just west of Gladewater on Culver Street. Witness told the Longview News-Journal that the two men aboard the craft walked away from it. Both suffered minor injuries. Their names have not been released. According to authorities, because the engine was out, the pilot was gliding to land in an open area but crashed into a wooded area. The FAA Registery says the plane is a single-engine Cessna registered to a Kilgore man. The FAA will be investigating the crash.
