Subject of Manhunt Arrested in Tyler

stevens_bryan_longview_pdLONGVIEW — A search spanning almost an entire day ended in the Wednesday night/Thursday predawn hours after authorities arrested the suspect in Tyler, according to the Longview Police Department. KETK reports the manhunt began Thursday morning in Longview. Law enforcement officers stopped searching for Robby Bryan Stevens, 43, at around 1:30 p.m. Thursday. He was eventually caught by the Tyler Police Department. The suspect’s vehicle was spotted near Highway 69 North and Loop 323 at the Knights Inn after a bulletin was put out by the authorities, Tyler police said. Investigators were called to the scene and Stevens was caught in a hotel room. More details behind his arrest have not been released.

According to officer Kristie Bryan with the Longview Police Department, their agency was joined by the Upshur County Sheriff’s Office, East Mountain Police Department, Gregg County Sheriff’s Office and DPS during the search for Stevens in a wooded off Gilmer Road in Longview. Stevens is wanted for the December 20 aggravated robbery of China King in Longview.
