MARSHALL A grieving Texas father wants the way we call 911 to be the same everywhere in the state. Officials say Hank Hunts daughter Kari was murdered by her ex-husband in a Marshall hotel room December 1 in front of the couples three little kids. Their nine-year-old tried to call 911, but didnt realize she had to dial nine first to get an outside line. Hunt says, My granddaughter did what she was supposed to do, and she couldnt get help and a nine-year-old should be able to get help when she needs it. More than 360,000 people have signed his petition on change.org called Karis Law a law that would require businesses like hotels to make sure their phone systems have easy access to dialing 911.
