Grieving Dad Seeks Easier Access to 911

MARSHALL � A grieving Texas father wants the way we call 911 to be the same everywhere in the state. Officials say Hank Hunt�s daughter Kari was murdered by her ex-husband in a Marshall hotel room December 1 in front of the couple�s three little kids. Their nine-year-old tried to call 911, but didn�t realize she had to dial nine first to get an outside line. Hunt says, �My granddaughter did what she was supposed to do, and she couldn�t get help � and a nine-year-old should be able to get help when she needs it.� More than 360,000 people have signed his petition on change.org called �Kari�s Law� � a law that would require businesses like hotels to make sure their phone systems have easy access to dialing 911.
