McConaughey Wins Globe for Best Actor in Drama

BEVERLY HILLS, CALIF. (AP) � Former Longview resident Matthew McConaughey has won the Golden Globe for best actor in a drama for “Dallas Buyers Club.” Born in Uvalde, McConaughey attended high school in Longview. The other nominees Sunday night were Chiwetel Ejiofor, “12 Years a Slave”; Idris Elba, “Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom”; Tom Hanks, “Captain Phillips”; and Robert Redford, “All Is Lost.”
