Louis and Peaches Own Heart Hospital Honored
Posted/updated on: January 30, 2014 at 5:09 pmTYLER — Louis and Peaches Owen Heart Hospital (LPOHH) at Mother Frances Hospital Tyler has been named one of the nations 50 Top Cardiovascular Hospitals by Truven Health Analytics. Truven Health Analytics is a a leading provider of information and solutions to improve the cost and quality of healthcare, according to a news release from Mother Frances.
Officials at Mother Frances say the Truven Health 50 Top Cardiovascular Hospitals study evaluates performance in key areas: risk-adjusted mortality, risk-adjusted complications, core measures (a group of measures that assess process of care), percentage of coronary bypass patients with internal mammary artery use, 30-day mortality rates, 30-day readmission rates, severity-adjusted average length of stay, and wage- and severity-adjusted average cost. The study is celebrating its 15th year and has been conducted annually since 1999. This is the first time LPOHH has been recognized with this honor.
