EAST TEXAS — Due to winter weather in the area, some schools and businesses have announced closings, reschedulings, and cancellations. SMITH COUNTY — All Smith County jury panels for Wednesday, February 12 have been canceled.
TYLER ISD – The following athletic events have been rescheduled for Wednesday, February 12, 2014: John Tyler Varsity girls basketball playoff game vs Mansfield-Lake Ridge at Fairfield High School at 6:30 p.m., REL Junior Varsity girls soccer vs Mesquite at Mesquite at 5:30 p.m., REL Varsity girls soccer vs Mesquite at Mesquite at 7:00 p.m., REL Junior Varsity boys soccer vs Mesquite at Rose Stadium at 5:30 p.m., REL Varsity boys soccer vs Mesquite at Rose Stadium at 7:00 p.m., John Tyler Junior Varsity boys basketball at Jacksonville at 5:00 p.m., John Tyler 9th grade boys basketball at Jacksonville at 6:15 p.m., John Tyler Varsity boys basketball at Jacksonville at 7:30 p.m., John Tyler Junior Varsity girls soccer at Mabank at 5:30 p.m., John Tyler Varsity girls soccer at Mabank at 7:00 p.m., John Tyler Junior Varsity boys soccer at JT High School Main Field at 5:30 p.m., John Tyler Varsity boys soccer at JT High School Main Field at 7:00 p.m.
BULLARD ISD – Girls basketball vs Mineola has been postponed until Wednesday at 7:30 p.m., at TJC.
EAST TEXAS BAPTIST UNIVERSITY – offices closed and classes cancelled for Wednesday
GOOD SHEPHERD SCHOOL – Classes Cancelled Wednesday
KILGORE COLLEGE – Campuses in Kilgore and Longview delayed opening until 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 12. Classes set for 8 a.m. and 9 a.m. Wednesday will not meet, but 10 a.m. classes met as scheduled. If this schedule changes ], updates will be posted on http://www.kilgore.edu and sent to local media outlets as soon as possible.
LaPOYNOR ISD – Classes cancelled Wednesday.
LeTOURNEAU UNIVERSITY – Delayed opening until 10 a.m. Wednesday. The first “class” students will attend will be their academic chapels at 10:50 a.m. Classes at LETU’s Abbott Aviation Center at East Texas Regional Airport will begin after chapels conclude at 11:30am.
LITTLE PEOPLE’S SCHOOL – Closed Wednesday
MARSHALL ISD – Boys basketball game vs Sulphur Springs has been postponed to Wednesday at 6:00 p.m.
PANOLA COLLEGE – Classes will begin at 12:00 noon Wednesday.
PINE TREE ISD – Varsity will play Wednesday at 6:00 p.m. Kilgore soccer boys vs Pine Tree has been postponed and rescheduled for Wednesday. Classes started at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday. Pre-K half-day morning classes will not meet
SPRING HILL ISD – Girls 3A Bi-District basketball playoffs vs Canton has been postponed. The game will be played at John Tyler High School Wednesday with a time TBA.
TATUM ISD – Boys basketball game vs Ore City has been postponed and rescheduled for Wednesday. Junior varsity will play at 5:00p.m., with the varsity to follow.
TJC- Classes began at 10:00, the 2014 UIL Luncheon at the Tyler Junior College Main campus today has been canceled.
UNIVERSITY OF TEXAS AT TYLER – Classes started at 10:00 am Wednesday, College Showcase cancelled
MEALS ON WHEELS MINISTRY- Closed Wednesday
Tyler BSF day women’s class closed.
