Police Receive New Information in Probe of 2009 Death

PALESTINE � The Palestine Police Department is continuing the investigation into the death of Virgie C. Spurlock. KETK reports The 61-year-old victim was found dead in his home in the 700 block of Head Street by a family acquaintance in the evening hours of December 6, 2009. Officials have continued to follow up on leads over the last several years with few results. Based on recent information, the Criminal Investigation Division (CID) has taken the case in a new direction and is working a new lead, according to authorities. Investigators will also be looking to re-interview persons who may have been contacted during the initial stages of the original investigation.
