fresh_15_routeTYLER — The Brookshire’s FRESH 15 race is set for Saturday, and approximately 2,000-plus runners are expected. The 15K-5K-1K event starts at 8:00 a.m. and ends around 10:00 a.m. A concert by Curtis Grimes will follow at Fresh by Brookshire’s. The event benefits Bethesda Health Clinic and the American Heart Association. The Tyler Police Department has issued a traffic advisory for FRESH 15, whose participants will be running specific courses throughout Southwest Tyler.

The outer borders of the course are as follows:

North side – Rice Rd.
East side – S. Broadway
South side – Mahar Rd.
West side – Old Jacksonville Hwy.

Tyler Police officers will be assisting with traffic control at major intersections and highly traveled streets where runners are designated to run in coned-off traffic lanes during the race. Police encourage those who do not want to be inconvenienced yielding to runners to take an alternate route to avoid the areas altogether. Officers will be giving the runners the right-of-way, but will allow traffic to flow when possible so as not to interfere with runners and their times. Police ask all motorists who may be stopped to be patient and courteous to participants and officers. You can go to http://freshbybrookshires.com/fresh-15/ to learn more about FRESH 15.
