TYLER — Young adults in foster care had their very own prom Saturday evening at the Glass Recreation Center in Tyler. It’s the annual “Pal Prom 2014”. According to KETK, the project allows teens who share similar experiences to meet and have fun together. Before the big event at 5:00, the girls got to pick up a dress, shoes and jewelry at Shiloh Road Church of Christ. The young boys also had their time to get ready and were treated to bowling. Star College of Cosmetology in Tyler gave the girls a full beauty experience.

After the girls got pampered and boys got groomed, they got to ride in style to the Glass Recreation Center in Tyler where prom is held. The Regional Pal Coordinator Collette Stec told KETK, “We focus on our CPS Child Protective Services youth foster care.” Stec adds, “This is a milestone for our youth, they’re celebrating their prom, they’re celebrating becoming that young adult.”
