Gilmer Football Player Dies

GILMER – A Gilmer High School Football Player has died while playing basketball with his friends. Coach Jeff Traylor confirms the death of junior wide receiver Desmond Pollard Sunday night. According to a tweet from Coach Traylor, “Desmond Pollard a Jr. WR #8 just passed away. He was the 4th of his brothers we coached. His sweet smile will always be missed.” The coach said Pollard was playing basketball when he collapsed and stopped breathing.
