Loop 49TYLER — The toll rates on Toll 49 will be going up April 1st. The base toll rates will increase, on average, to $.14 cents per mile on Toll 49 for passenger cars. All other classes of vehicle rates will increase as well.

When the first segment of the toll road opened in 2006, TxDOT’s toll rate was set at $.10/mile. In accordance to the TxDOT’s Market Valuation, upon completion of the facility to Inter state Highway 20, rates would increase annually by 1 cent until the base rate would reach 15cents. As there were no rate increases from 2006 to March 2013, the traveling public has received the benefits of a stationary base rate. Upon opening of Toll 49 to I-20 at the end of March 2013, the NET RMA took over the operations and maintenance of the facility with the first annual rate increase corresponding to the opening. In accordance with TxDOT’s Market Valuation, the NET RMA could have elected to raise the rate a second time on December 31, 2013 but postponed that decision.

The NET RMA Board took action on February 11 which allowed for the second rate increase to be effective on April 1, 2014 and the third rate increase to be effective on December 31, 2014 meeting the agreement that had been established by the TxDOT Market Valuation.
