Man Accused in Wife’s Murder Loses Parental Rights

jamescalvertmugTYLER — Accused murderer James Calvert has had his parental rights terminated as a result of an agreement announced in court Tuesday. According to KETK, Judge Carole Clark of the Smith County 321st District Court approved an agreement stating Calvert’s parental rights to his two children will be terminated and the kids will now be out of foster care and living with Calvert’s cousin in Ohio. Calvert is accused of shooting and killing his ex-wife, Jelena Radobanovic Sriraman before kidnapping their son, Lucas, Wednesday, October 31, 2012.

Calvert was captured late that same night in West Monroe, Louisiana, following a short police chase and a crash. In May, 2012, Calvert was involved in a custody battle with his Sriraman.
