Police: Two Arrested After Burglary, Large-Scale Theft
Posted/updated on: April 30, 2014 at 3:11 pmLONGVIEW Police in Longview say two alleged burglars have been arrested after reportedly taking between $20,000 and $100,000 worth of property. Shortly after 12:15pm on April 28, police were dispatched to the 900 Block of West Marshall Avenue to investigate reports of a building that had been burglarized. When officers arrived they were told several storage buildings behind the business were broken into and various items, some worth thousands of dollars, had been stolen.
Police began to investigate the scene and were told by store employees that some of the items were found at a campsite in a wooded area near the storage buildings. As police approached the campsite two suspects ran from the scene, according to a news release. Officials say other police officers quickly circulated the area and located the two suspects hiding inside a local business. Both were apprehended and transported to the Gregg County Jail without further incident.
Derrick Bray, 41, of Marshall was arrested and charged with evading arrest or detention, burglary of a building, and theft F/3. Legacy Lynn Roach, 21, of Longview, was arrested and charged with theft F/3, evading arrest, and burglary of a building. According to KETK, each suspects bail was set at $36,000.
