Tyler Celebrates National Day of Prayer

TYLER � Tyler Mayor Barbara Bass welcomed hundreds to her last Mayor�s Prayer Breakfast Thursday as she prepares to complete her six-year term. Pointing out that the day is recognized as the National Day of Prayer, Bass added, �But we know that each and every day is a day of prayer for each of us.� Activities at the Harvey Convention Center event included prayers for healing, courage, hope, enlightenment, Tyler, and the nation, as well as a prayer for exhortation. Attendees were also treated to music and a �Prayer America� video. The prayer breakfast committee made a special surprise presentation to Bass at the conclusion of the event, handing her a bouquet, a plaque, and words of thanks. Also on the prayer day agenda was �come and go� prayer on the downtown square from 9:00am till 9:00pm.
