Smith County Deputy Constable Dies of Heart Attack

TYLER � Smith County Precinct 1 Deputy Constable Steven Murray has died of a “massive” heart attack. He was rushed from his home to the hospital Monday afternoon where he later died. Murray, who was serving as a K9 handler, had been with the precinct since 2006. The following announcement was posted around 9:00 last night on the sheriff department�s Face Book Page, �Thanks for the many thoughts and prayers for Deputy Constable Murray. We are sad to announce we just received word that he is now in the loving arms of God. Please keep his family in your thoughts and prayers as they go through these difficult times.�
