thumb_police-9TYLER — Three suspected burglars are now in the custody of Smith County Sheriff’s Office deputies after a brief pursuit Thursday morning. The initial call came in around 10:20 a.m. from the 18000 block of County Road 234. Officials say an uncle of the homeowners, who also lives in the neighborhood, was driving by and saw a vehicle that shouldnt have been there, parked at the back of the residence. The uncle entered the front door of the residence, which is where the burglars gained entry, and saw three men exit the back of the home. The men got into their vehicle and began to flee. The uncle then used a handgun to fire several shots at their car.

At 10:41 a.m., Smith County Sheriff’s Office deputies, with the assistance of numerous other law enforcement agencies, pulled over the vehicle and detained the three suspects. Two bullet holes were found in the front bumper of the car. The three men, Larry Bernard Jones III, 23; Robert Kederrick Bradford, 26; and Phillip Lamarcus Ross, Jr., 29, are all charged with burglary of a habitation. All three are from Henderson. Their vehicle has been towed to a Smith County Sheriffs Office facility. A search warrant was being prepared for the vehicle late Thursday. Stolen property from this burglary is believed to be in the vehicle.
