TxDOT signTYLER — Here’s a quick look at events and work planned in the Tyler District of the state highway department.

GREGG COUNTY – Texas Department of Transportation maintenance crews Sunday night started to perform pavement texturing operations on Interstate Highway 20 between State Highway 42 and the Harrison County Line. The work will be conducted by a slow-moving convoy between 9:00pm to 5:00am through Wednesday. Motorists are encouraged to be prepared to reduce speed and merge in and around the convoy work area.

Texas Department of Transportation maintenance crews this week are scheduled to continue several weeks of pavement-repair operations on U.S. Highway 80 between Loop 485 in Gladewater and the Upshur County Line, followed by similar work in U.S. Highway 271 between U.S. Highway 80 in Gladewater and the Upshur County Line. Daytime lane closures will be in effect in each location while the work is in progress, and flaggers will control traffic in two-lane areas.

SMITH COUNTY – Texas Department of Transportation maintenance crews this week are scheduled to conclude shoulder work on Farm Road 346 between U.S. Highway 69 and Farm Road 756, then move to perform the same work on Farm Road 756 south of Farm Road 346, and on Farm Road 344 between Farm Road 756 and U.S. Highway 69 in Bullard.

A second crew is scheduled to perform ditch work in various locations on Toll 49 between Farm Road 756 and State Highway 110. Daytime lane closures will be in effect in each location while the work is in progress. Motorists are encouraged to be prepared to reduce speed and merge in and around the work zones.

WOOD COUNTY – Texas Department of Transportation maintenance crews this week are scheduled to conclude pavement repairs on U.S. Highway 69 between the Rains County Line and Farm Road 1799. Once that work is complete, crews are scheduled to apply a seal coat to Farm Road 2422 between U.S. Highway 80 and Farm Road 1804 east of Mineola, and to the intersection of Farm Road 1801 and East Loop 564 in Mineola. Daytime lane closures will be in effect in each location while the work is in progress, and flaggers will control traffic in two-lane areas.

TATUM – Texas Department of Transportation maintenance crews on Tuesday this week are scheduled to perform seal coat operations on State Highway 149 in Tatum between the Tatum northern city limit and State Highway 43. Once the work is complete, the roadway will be restriped to allow for a continuous left-turn lane and right turn lanes for easier access to the schools in that area. Daytime lane closures will be in effect while the work is in progress, and motorists are encouraged to be prepared to reduce speed and merge in and around the work zone.

VAN ZANDT COUNTY – Texas Department of Transportation maintenance crews this week are scheduled to perform resurfacing operations on State Highway 64 between U.S. Highway 80 in Wills Point and Interstate Highway 20. Daytime lane closures will be in effect while the work is in progress, and flaggers will control traffic.

CHEROKEE COUNTY – Texas Department of Transportation maintenance crews this week are scheduled to make base and pavement repairs on U.S. Highway 79 near the Henderson County Line, then move mid-week to perform the same work in various locations on US 79 east of Jacksonville between Loop 456 and New Summerfield. Daytime lane closures will be in effect while the work is in progress, and motorists are encouraged to be prepared to reduce speed and merge in and around the work zones.

ANDERSON COUNTY — Texas Department of Transportation maintenance crews this week are scheduled to perform edge and shoulder work in various locations on State Highway 294 between U.S. Highway 287 in Elkhart and Farm Road 228 near the Cherokee County Line. Daytime lane closures will be in effect while the work is in progress, and flaggers will control traffic.

ATHENS – Texas Department of Transportation maintenance crews this week are scheduled to continue base and pavement repairs on State Highway 19 between North Loop 7 and Downtown Athens. Daytime lane closures will be in effect in each location while the work is in progress, and flaggers will control traffic.
