Liles_Thomas.1406302889QUITMAN (Staff/AP) — The deaths of two young girls in Quitman have been ruled homicides. KETK reported Thursday it has obtained the preliminary autopsy report on the case. According to Wood County Precinct 1 Justice of the Peace Alice Tomerlin, Gabriella Guerrero, 3, died from blunt force injuries and Natalye Price, 1, died from blunt force trauma to her head and trunk. Thomas Wayne Liles (pictured), 19, of Quitman, remains jailed on $25,000 bond for allegedly tampering with the case.

At 1:51 a.m. July 24, Quitman PD responded to reports of two young sisters who were not breathing and would not wake up. When authorities arrived, they found two girls, approximately ages two and three, dead. Multiple witnesses told officers that a man was seen running from the Dogwood Villa apartment where the two deaths occurred. They also saw the man throw a “large item” into a dumpster near the building. Police say multiple items were discarded and were consistent with having come from the children’s apartment. Officials say Liles was the man who dumped the items. According to authorities, it is not known at this time if the discarded items are related to the children’s deaths.
