Art of Peace Festival Continues
Posted/updated on: September 15, 2014 at 4:45 pmTYLER — The 4th Annual Art Of Peace Festival in Tyler continues after beginning Saturday. It lasts until the actual International Day of Peace on Sunday, September 21st. This is a community-wide event to celebrate the United Nations International Day of Peace and encourage community spirit, according to organizers. They say the aim is to promote a spirit of cooperation and community through fellowship, dialogue, music, poetry, and art.
Activities started at 1:00 p.m. Saturday with the unveiling of a peace mural at Tylers Discovery Science Place on North Broadway. Other activities include a Peace Meal on Monday, a Peace Forum on Tuesday, a Peace Vigil on Friday, and next Saturday, a Peace Art Day for Kids at Tylers Bergfeld Park. Activities end on the 21st with an Art of Peace Worship Service and a Peace Concert that evening at Liberty Hall.
