dogfoundLONGVIEW — A Longview lawman’s discovery leads to the rescue of a puppy who’d become stuck in a storm drain. Longview police and KETK report Officer Anthony Minyard was on routine patrol in the area of 12th St. and Millie when he heard the puppy screaming. He got out of his patrol car to investigate and found the puppy had fallen down the 30-foot drain. Police say he immediately called Animal Control Officer Chris Kemper. Kemper came out and determined that he would need the help of the Longview Fire Dept. to rescue the puppy. With the assistance of LFD, Kemper climbed down into the storm drain and rescued the approximately 5-month-old German shepherd pup. The puppy has been taken to a local vet and is expected to survive.
