Downtown Tyler Finalist in Three Texas Downtown Award Categories

thumb_tyler-mainstreetTYLER — The Fair Plaza Garage, Tylers African American Heritage Trail, and Regions Bank have all been named finalists of the 2014 Texas Downtown Association (TDA) Presidents Awards Program. The announcement comes in a city of Tyler news release. Since 1998, the Awards Program has recognized more than 150 projects, events and people that make a difference in Texas downtowns.

Fair Plaza Garage is a finalist of the Best Public Improvement category that recognizes excellence in public projects and planning in downtowns or commercial districts. The other finalists in this category are the Georgetown Art Center, the Mansfield 88 Project, and Round Rocks Historic Downtown Core Zoning Districts.

The City of Tylers African American Heritage Trail is a finalist in the Best Marketing Program category that recognizes excellence in marketing of downtown or commercial districts. The other finalist is the City of Georgetown.

Regions Bank has been named a finalist in the Best Downtown Business category. This category recognizes an exceptional downtown business that positively promotes the downtown or commercial district as a destination for locals and tourists alike, and actively participates in the revitalization efforts and supports downtown promotional events.

Winners will be announced on Nov. 6 at the Presidents Awards Luncheon held in conjunction with the 2014 Texas Downtown Development and Revitalization Conference in Granbury.
