Fatal Pedestrian Accident Victim Identified

police-car-lights2TYLER –- Authorities are investigating an accident around 10:40 last night that left a pedestrian dead. Officers with the Tyler Police Department responded to the area of 4700 Old Jacksonville Highway in reference to a report of a pedestrian, who had been struck by a vehicle. The pedestrian, Daniel Brandon Williams, 36, of Tyler, was said to be deceased by the time officers arrived. The driver of the vehicle had stopped and was waiting for officers.

Upon further investigation it was determined that the vehicle was traveling north on Old Jacksonville in the inside lane when it struck Williams, who was standing in the lane. It’s not known what he was doing in the area. Officials say he may have been visually impaired. The driver of the vehicle was not intoxicated or impaired. No charges have been filed and the investigation is on going.
