Kilgore Hotel Project Funding on Hold

KILGORE � The City of Kilgore has put a hold on the funding distribution to its hotel project. According to KETK, city officials say the hotel group was asking for too much money. The city puts tax dollars back into programs and boards that attract more people to Kilgore, such as hotels and the chamber of commerce. Officials say the hotel advisory board asked the city for $43,000 � more than what�s available in the budget. A special meeting will be held in two weeks, at which the Hotel Occupancy Tax Board will meet with Kilgore�s city council to work out a new budget.
