Man Who Allegedly Assaulted Deputies Indicted

dupreechaseLONGVIEW — A Longview man accused of assaulting two deputies and lighting a fire in the back of a patrol car has been indicted on multiple charges. According to KETK, the Gregg County District Attorney’s Office says Chase Hayden Dupree, 23, was indicted for arson and assault against a public servant. The suspect was arrested for the offenses on August 15. Dupree was taken into custody about 2:15 a.m. at the North Point RV Park off Highway 259 for allegedly smoking marijuana. The Longview News-Journal reported Dupree was accused of kicking a deputy and biting another during his arrest. He then reportedly proceeded to light a fire in the back of the patrol car on the way to jail. The suspect is being held on $35,000 bond.
