Tyler Police Investigate Similar Style Robberies

police-tyler-car2TYLER — Tyler Police respond to a reported armed robbery last night. I happened around 10:45 at the Super Sak, 1938 Troup Hwy. According to officers, the clerk reported two black males entered the store, one of them displaying a handgun. The armed suspect demanded money from the clerk and took an undisclosed amount of cash from the register. The second suspect stood watch at the door. Both suspects then left the store and fled the area.

The second robbery happened around 4:45 at the Food Fast, 1707 E. Front Street. Arriving officers were told that two black males contacted one of the clerks outside the store and forced her back in at gun point. The suspect with the gun then walked to the front counter where a second clerk was standing and demanded money from the cash register. The second suspect reportedly stood watch at the door.

The suspects description from both robberies were the same. The first suspect was described as a black male wearing a gray hoodie and baggie dark colored pants. He was wearing gloves and a blue bandana over his face. He was armed with a dark colored handgun. The second suspect was described as a black male wearing a camo long sleeved shirt, dark colored pants with a dark colored bandana over his face as well. The second suspect was also wearing a dark colored baseball cap. After taking an undisclosed amount of money, both suspects exited the store and left the area.

Anyone with information is urged to contact Tyler Police at 903-531-1000 or Tyler/Smith County Crimestoppers at 903-597-CUFF. Crimestoppers will pay up to $1,000 for information that leads to the arrest and charges filed against the suspects in this case or any other felony case.
